This past week, Vine launched its long-awaited extension of their popular app for the Apple Watch. As part of this release, the company added a new feature to its iOS app designed to make it easier to surface new content quickly.

The Apple Watch version of Vine touts two separate feeds: one that shows a collection of Featured Vines and another for Favorites. Each feed allows users to favorite or re-Vine content. The Featured Vines can be manually refreshed with the tap of a button.

The new Apple Watch app also features various quirks for various Apple Watch faces that display account loops and servers as a quick link to the Vine watchOS app. Unlike its parent company, Twitter, there isnít any timeline feed in the first iteration of the Vine app for the Apple Watch. This may actually be an indicator of how people consumer content on the varying services, though it could just be a test or a development delay as well.

Simultaneously, Vine also introduced a new feature for its iOS app that allows users to swipe left on any Vine to get any related content. Snapchat, the competing video app, debuted a similar feature called Story Explorer that lets users view multiple snaps of a single story filmed by different people.

Those of you interested in the updated Vine app, including its Apple Watch version, can download it for free from the iOS App Store.
